A Foodie’s Holiday Gift Guide

Back when I was a kid, I distinctly remember getting those gigantic Christmas Toy catalogs in the mail right around Thanksgiving and spending hours pouring over the latest dolls, crafts, and gadgets. I was very meticulous, even as a child, so I was sure to have my pencil and paper in hand, taking notes and reading it over and over again to make sure I’d seen absolutely everything.

Back then, my mom and dad told us that Santa only brought each child in the world THREE gifts for Christmas, so we had to come up with our top 3 choices, and a few extras just in case Santa’s workshop didn’t make that brand. (Later did I find out, that my friends at school were getting a few more than 3 toys. Hmmmm Santa… hahaha). My siblings and I were very careful about our choices, comparing them with each other and getting giddy over simply, well, a doll, or a book, or a truck. Such simple pleasures! Ahhh to be a kid again!

Today, I still get giddy over Christmas presents, but my taste in “toys” has changed drastically. Now I’m all smiles over a new Dutch Oven or a set of baking sheets. My child-self would be shaking it’s head.

I put together a list of 10 kitchen tools and gadgets that would totally make my top three this year! Do you have any of these tools at home? What is on your wish list this year?!? Ohh, and I threw in a few cookbook ideas as well. I actually own a few of them already, but they’re great recommendations for other foodies or home chefs you may be buying for this year (or to treat yourself!!).
