Friday Five 1.15.16 & a Reader Survey

Hi guys! It’s Fridayyyyy— and we’re trying something new this week! You may have noticed I haven’t posted an edition of “Friday Favorites” in quite a while. Like over a month to be exact. This is mostly because I’ve been dabbling with the idea of taking these Friday posts in a new direction. Annndddd then the holidays happened. Enough said.

I absolutely LOVE sharing all my favorite recipes from the blogosphere with you on Fridays, but wanted to add a little more… personality… into these posts. A little more connection from me to you! So I’m going to try this new “Friday Five” model out and we’ll just…. see how it goes! Sound okay to you guys? Cool. So my idea is as follows: sharing 5 of my favorites from the week in the categories of food, random life stuff, and, of course, the rest of the blogging world. I may change these categories as we progress, but who knows! We’re just running with it at this point!


Now, as I’m in the process of trying some new things out on the blog, I’d love to get some feedback from you guys about what YOU’D like to see on pumpkin & peanut butter! More sweets? More quick weeknight dinners? More gluten free goodies? More vegan options? Tell me your thoughts! Is there anything else you’d like to see that’s not necessarily food related? Fitness posts? More lifestyle posts? Travel posts? Lay it ALL out on the survey! I promise it’ll only take 2 minutes 🙂

…5 recipes i’ve made this week…

  1. this mushroom lentil loaf. it’s still the most popular recipe on my blog. so cool!
  2. this asian salmon with rice noodles and asparagus. it’s been our obsession lately.
  3. these green goddess quinoa spring rolls. oh my goodness I forgot how much I love these.
  4. this 15 minute burst tomato pasta. weekday meal at it’s best.
  5. these teriyaki soba noodle spring rolls. ohhh yesssss.


…5 things i’m loving lately…

  1. i’m sure you’re all just as obsessed as me— but making a murderer is the most addicting thing that’s ever happened to netflix. if you haven’t seen it yet, get ready for a weekend binge.
  2. potatoes! but when was i ever NOT loving potatoes? true story. but seriously, i’ve been making potatoes like it’s my JOB for the past week— mashed potatoes, hash browns, curly fries, potato salads, and these little boats of amazingness {coming soon}
  3. we went to see the book of mormon last friday and i still can’t get the songs out of my head. most hilarious show EVER!
  4. i’ve been listening to aziz ansari’s Modern Romance on audible and it’s making me love him even more! it’s like stand up comedy and a millennial-inspired book-on-tape all in one.
  5. yoga! my sisters, mom, and future sister & mother-in-law are all doing a 30-day yoga challenge with me this month. yep, that means yoga everyday for 30 days! i’ll keep you posted with how it’s going.


…5 things i’ve been reading…

  1. i’ve been loving the foodwright’s posts about her trip to london over the past few weeks. seriously, take me back!
  2. loved reading vanilla and bean’s relatable and hilarious story about her trip to hawaii (ohhh, and THAT SOUP!)
  3. oscar nominations are in! i’ve such a movie geek— so this was a prettyyyy exciting part of my week
  4. i couldn’t have said these gilmore girl storylines that fan demand to see in the revival any better myself. #soexcited
  5. loving these 15 healthy dinners you can make in 30 minutes or less


…5 recipes i’m dying to try…

  1. these healthy blueberry oatmeal muffins. the story that goes with them is so cute 😉
  2. these adorable individual vegan pot pies. someone make one for me pleaseee
  3. these vegetarian mexican stuffed peppers. perfect way to use up all those extra grains
  4. this spicy crispy kung pao cauliflower. i can’t even!
  5. these vegan neapolitan overnight oats. what a crazy cool idea!
