Our Whirlwind Summer in DC: Recap

Can you believe today is the last day of July? Man, where did this summer go?! I’m even more sad to say that today is also our last day in DC.

We’ve been spending most of our summer here while my fiancé completed one of his law internships, but will be heading back to Durham for the last few weeks of summer (and the next 2 years).

Washington feels like a second home to us because that’s where Nate and I lived before our law school adventure in North Carolina. It’s so bittersweet leaving, since I’m such a city girl and love being in walking distance of, basically, everything, but it will feel really nice to be back in our own apartment in Durham.

I put together a picture recap of our two amazing months here and was already reminiscing on our summer memories. It feels like we’ve been here forever, just thinking about all the things we’ve been able to do during our short stay.

One thing’s for sure— I’m going to miss you, you big, beautiful city!

Hi, I’m Liz and this is my food blog where I share my love of healthy foods and whole ingredients. You will find mostly vegetarian dishes, plenty of sweets, and lots of love from this little kitchen in Durham, North Carolina!

  1. I’ve never been to DC, but it looks beautiful. And it looks like it has a lot of tasty food! But NC is also gorgeous, so I’m sure you’ll be happy to be home. Good luck with the move back! 🙂

    • Thanks Beeta! Both cities certainly have a special place in my heart. And you’re right about the food, SO good!
